Desert Mirage High School was placed on a temporary lockdown Wednesday following a report of an armed individual nearby.
Deputies responded to a report of an armed subject at 11:57 a.m. Wednesday in the 86000 block of 66th Avenue, according to Sgt. Robert Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Arriving deputies contacted a juvenile who was found in possession of a “replica firearm,” Martinez said. The suspect, who was not identified due to the person’s age, was taken into custody without incident.
No injuries were reported.
The investigation was ongoing.
