A 24-year-old pedestrian who was struck and killed by a car on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Mid-City area was identified Thursday.
A grey Honda Accord struck and killed the pedestrian around 10:03 p.m. on Oct.16, just west of La Brea Avenue, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson said.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and performed CPR on the victim near the center divide, according to video from the scene. The victim was then pronounced dead at the scene.
She was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Kimberly Martinez, who sustained blunt force injuries.
The driver of the Honda Accord remained at the scene.
The 1, 2 and 3 lanes were closed and the CHP issued a SigAlert for an undetermined amount of time.
