A 35-year-old man fatally shot at the Nickerson Gardens public housing development in Watts was identified Thursday.
The shooting was reported at 10:22 p.m. Sunday in the 1400 block of West 114th Street, near Compton Avenue, according to a Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman.
The victim was neither conscious nor breathing when paramedics arrived at the scene. They took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, she said.
He was identified Thursday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner as LaFayette Lomax.
Investigators believed the shooting was gang-related, the spokeswoman said.
