Officers responded around 12:35 a.m. Friday to Speedway and Washington Boulevard on reports of an unconscious man suffering from a cut to the right side of his head, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The victim, a Danish national visiting the United States, was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel, where he was treated for serious injuries, police said.
According to police, two suspects were seen on surveillance approaching and assaulting the victim. It was unclear what, if anything, precipitated the attack.
