Crews put out a fire Friday at a Harbor Gateway area apartment building, where two people were assessed for injuries.
The fire was reported at 8:28 a.m. Friday at 1600 W. Carson St ., just east of Western Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Forty-two firefighters responded and put out the fire in just over 20 minutes, containing the damage to a single unit in the three-story modern apartment building.
