A 15-year-old boy suspected of phoning in a bomb threat to a Riverside high school, prompting a two-hour evacuation, was arrested Wednesday.

The teenager, whose name was withheld, was booked into Riverside Juvenile Hall on suspicion of making false terrorist threats.

The bomb scare at Martin Luther King High School led to the evacuation of the entire campus shortly before 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Riverside police officers, using bomb-sniffing canines, scoured the grounds for nearly two hours before declaring the area safe. Classes resumed about 11 a.m., according to the Riverside Unified School District.

Police did not disclose whether the suspect, who is a sophomore at MLK, confessed or gave any indication why he allegedly made the call.
