Norco College was among 84 higher education campuses across the nation recognized as a “2018 Great College to Work For,” it was announced Monday.
“The recognition of NC being one of the great colleges to work for in the country is frankly a reflection of the commitment and engagement of our talented faculty and staff,” Norco College President Bryan Reece said.
The Chronicle of Higher Education conducted a nationwide survey of 253 campuses, 88 of them two-year institutions like Norco College, which is part of the Riverside Community College District.
Respondents gave Norco College high marks for “collaborative governance,” “compensation and benefits,” “confidence in senior leadership,” “job satisfaction” and “supervisor-department chair relationship.”
The campus employs about 500 people and averages roughly 13,000 enrollees in an academic year.
Of the two-year schools surveyed, only 24 made the Chronicle of Higher Education’s “great college” list. Among four-year institutions, 60 were recognized based on the organization’s criteria.
The assessment process involved an audit and a questionnaire directed to administrators, faculty and support staff.
