Danielle Weinstein, a science teacher at Lyle S. Briggs Fundamental School in Chino, will receive a $10,000 donation as part of the College Football Playoff Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers initiative at Saturday evening’s UCLA-Fresno State football game at the Rose Bowl.

Saturday marks the start of the eight-day Extra Yard for Teachers Week, an annual salute to teachers supported by the College Football Playoff Foundation, the charitable arm of the College Football Playoffs.

All Pac-12 Conference schools plan to recognize and support teachers in their respective communities during the week.

Extra Yard for Teachers is the CFP Foundation’s primary cause platform, seeking to elevate the teaching profession by inspiring and empowering teachers, attracting quality future educators and partnering with organizations with a strong track record in classroom preparation.

A video of former UCLA quarterback Troy Aikman sharing a story about a teacher that made an impact on his life will be shown on the Rose Bowl’s video board during Saturday’s game.
