One student from each school in the Palm Springs Unified School District will be honored Monday evening by district administrators.
The students were nominated by their principals for their ability to succeed in school despite encountering significant obstacles in their personal lives.
One student will chosen to compete for a cash scholarship from Region XIX of the Association of California School Administrators.
The ceremony will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Cathedral City High School, 69-250 Dinah Shore Drive.
