The Farhang Foundation, a nonprofit organization established to celebrate Iranian art and culture, says it is canceling Iranian New Year celebrations at UCLA on March 8, including a concert by Iranian singer Darya Dadvar at Royce Hall.

“This was a very difficult decision for us, but out of an abundance of caution for the well-being of our guests as well as our volunteers, artists, and staff we feel it is the right decision,” the foundation said in a statement.

It said it took the action “due to the evolving risk” associated with the coronavirus.

Anyone who purchased tickets to the Darya Dadvar concert will get a refund from the seller, according to the statement.
