Costa Mesa firefighters Thursday were battling a brush fire in Fairview Park.
The fire broke out just after 4 p.m. at the park at 2501 Placentia Ave., said Costa Mesa Fire Capt. Joe Noceti.
The blaze started in the picnic area of the park near Estancia High School, Noceti said.
Flames were being driven by brush and partially by wind, he said.
