The Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering announced Thursday that the L.A. For Kids Program is seeking funding proposals for the next three fiscal years for projects related to upgrading parks and facilities used for youth activities.

More than $16 million in Proposition K funding and about $1.2 million from the Health Alternatives to Smoking Trust Fund are available.

Proposition K funds are restricted for:

— youth schools/recreation projects;

— aquatic upgrades;

— urban greening;

–acquisition of parks/natural lands;

— regional recreation/education facilities;

— neighborhood at-risk youth recreation facilities;

— youth schools/recreation projects;

— athletic fields; and

— lighting.

Those submitting proposals must attend one of four virtual Technical Assistance Seminars in order to be eligible for funding. RSVP by emailing engpropkrfp@lacity.org at least three work days before any of the following seminar dates:

— Wednesday, March 10, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., to be accessed at meet.google.com/eic-fsbc-gdi;

— Wednesday, March 24, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., meet.google.com/qgm-szqz-qyh;

— Wednesday, April 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., meet.google.com/wgg-gxfm-yka; and

— Wednesday, April 28 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m, meet.google.com/noe-zrew-cpp.

Proposals are due by 3 p.m. May 27 and must be submitted electronically. More information is available at eng.lacity.org/propk.
