An underground high-pressure natural gas line sprung a leak near a Pacific Palisades elementary school Friday, but no injuries or illnesses were reported.
The leak was reported just after 1:10 p.m. near the teacher parking lot at Marquez Charter Elementary School, located at 16821 W. Marquez Ave., near Sunset Boulevard, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Brian Humphrey.
An unknown number of students and staff were moved to another area of the campus out of an abundance of caution as LAFD units cordoned off the area surrounding the leak, Humphrey said.
SoCalGas crews were en route to the location to address the leak. No further details were released.
