A 21-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to four months in jail for exposing himself to high school and college students in Costa Mesa.

Brandon Alexis Mumtaz exposed himself about 4:10 p.m., Oct. 1, 2018, in a parking lot at Orange Coast College, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Mumtaz also exposed himself from his vehicle on Oct. 3, 2018, to a victim who was walking home from school, prosecutors said.

A Costa Mesa appeal to the public for help identifying a suspect led to Mumtaz’s arrest in October 2018.

Mumtaz pleaded guilty Aug. 16 to two counts of indecent exposure and one count of child annoyance, all misdemeanors.

Mumtaz has to report to jail by April 8, according to court records. He must also register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
