Education Secretary Miguel Cardona concluded a two-day trip to Los Angeles County Wednesday by visiting the Los Angeles High School of the Arts at Robert F. Kennedy Community School in Koreatown.
Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Alberto Carvalho joined Cardona on the tour, which included examples of how the district is leveraging American Rescue Plan funds and other pandemic relief funds to support student learning and help students recover from the pandemic.
Following the tour, Cardona, Garcetti and Carvalho met with a group of parents to discuss efforts to support students’ mental health as schools emerge from the pandemic.
