Modernism Week, an annual celebration of Palm Springs mid-century design and architecture, wraps up Sunday with tours, educational talks and related activities.
Sunday’s highlights include an 8 a.m. yard sale and an emphasis on the enduring link between Palm Springs and Hollywood with such events as the Hollywood Rat Pack Playground, Frank Sinatra’s Neighborhood and a Forever Elvis Brunch.
At 3 p.m., Atomic Ranch magazine — which focuses on mid century modern design — will host a poolside interview with the owners of The Kirk Douglas Estate, a home the late actor used for vacations from the late 1950s until 1999. There will also be a tour.
Modernism design and architecture was popular during the years following World War II in the mid to late 1940s until the 1980s.
The Palm Springs event, Oct. 19-22, has featured more than 50 offerings including educational tours of neighborhoods, significant buildings and residences along with informational talks.
A portion of the proceeds benefit local preservation and various community groups.
Tickets and more information are available at ModernismWeek.com.
