The Palm Springs Unified School District’s renewal of a policy to provide free meals for school children during the 2024-25 school year went into effect Friday.

Students at 30 elementary, middle and high schools will be able to receive breakfast and lunch free of charge, the District said in a statement Thursday.

The decision was made possible under the National School Lunch/School Breakfast Programs.
