A free, two-hour educational class highlighting traffic safety designed for teenagers will be hosted by California Highway Patrol officers next week in Temecula

The event will be held from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday at Temecula City Hall, 41000 Main St.

“Start Smart” program is an interactive, traffic safety class designed for 15- to 19-year-old teen drivers. Officers will discuss the dangers associated with being on the road.

Parents were encouraged to attend, and teen attendees will receive a certificate after the class.

Funding for the program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
