The annual six-week summer reading program hosted by the Palm Springs Public Library will conclude Saturday, with a prize giveaway set for Wednesday at the library.
The program began June 8 and runs through Saturday, with this year’s theme set as “Plant A Seed, Read!” The program aimed to prevent season learning loss in kids through teens.
Through the Beanstack app, participants were able to track their reading, watching and listening to earn grand prize entry tickets and other prizes.
A summer reading finale celebration will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Rimrock Plaza, 4721 E. Palm Canyon Drive.
Grand prizes, courtesy of Friends of the Palm Springs Library, include a Nintendo Switch 2 and a game, a $100 Amazon gift card, a family fun pack of local experience gift cards, a raised self-watering garden bed and an electric bike with a helmet and lock.
In addition, Friends of the Palm Springs Library will host an all-day book sale from 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. the same day.
