A fire at a13,008 square foot, two- story apartment building in Hollywood was quickly knocked down in 17 minutes Tuesday evening by Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters.
The fire was reported at 8:43 p.m. and fire crews responded to 1732 N. Whitley Ave. north of Hollywood Boulevard where they were able to extinguish flames at the second floor unit, LAFD spokesman Brian Humphrey said.
It took 36 firefighters to put out the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Humphrey said.
