A brush fire burned about 1.5 acres in the Sepulveda Basin Wednesday, prompting a shutdown of a Metro bus line service and leaving one person injured.

The fire was reported shortly after noon near Victory and Balboa boulevards in Van Nuys, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Flames engulfed multiple palm trees and threatened the Metro G (Orange) Line busway, leading to the suspension of service between the Woodley and White Oak stations, the department said.

One person was treated for burn injuries, though the extent of the injuries was not immediately known, authorities said.

Air and ground crews responded to the scene, including near the Army Recruiting Battalion, where flames may have threatened vehicles in the parking lot.
