A raging fire lit up the dark sky over a quarter-acre tire facility near Menifee Monday and flames spread to an adjacent house and commercial buildings.
The fire was reported at 2:06 a.m. in the 25600 block of Second Street at Highway 74 east of the city limits, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
First arriving firefighters requested additional engines, SoCal Gas, Southern California Edison crews for downed power lines as well as Environmental Health representatives to mitigate hazards from the burning tires, fire officials said.
The flames spread to a commercial building, a small restaurant, a single-story house and a recreational vehicle, officials said.
No injuries were reported but residents of the house were displaced, fire officials said.
