A two-alarm fire that broke out Wednesday north of the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway destroyed a home and threatened others before crews contained it.

The non-injury blaze was reported at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Webb Street and Ironwood Avenue in Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

The agency said that multiple engine crews and truck companies were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in a single-story residence and extending into surrounding brush, threatening neighboring properties between Webb to the west and Kristen Court to the east.

By 2 p.m., the fire was completely contained.

Webb and Kristen were closed by sheriff’s deputies for public safety.

Officials said there were power lines down at the location, but it was not immediately clear what might have triggered the blaze.

There was also no word on whether anyone had been displaced.
