The Hawk Fire in Acton is 67% contained Saturday.

The brush fire began Friday 6% contained, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The fire was 42% contained according to the day’s first update.

The fire’s progress was stopped Thursday night after it scorched 400 acres of vegetation.

The fire was reported shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday in the 35900 block of North Trenmar Drive, south of Ritter Ranch Park,

Some structures were threatened as the flames spread through medium brush. The department issued a third alarm, summoning additional air and ground resources to the scene.

One neighborhood was placed under an evacuation order, and others were given evacuation warnings.

A shelter-in-place order was issued for the area near Shannon Valley Road and Via Famero Drive.

Two evacuation warnings were in effect at 8 p.m. Thursday, with the orders downgraded or canceled, the Los Angeles County Fire Department reported.

A firefighter suffered a minor injury Thursday, the department reported.

The cause of the fire was not known.
