A driver was killed Thursday in a crash in Lancaster involving a car and a big rig.

The crash, with a person trapped, was reported about 6:45 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of 30th Street West and Avenue G, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Video from the scene showed the obliterated remains of a white Volkswagen Passat and a big rig with slight damage to its rear trailer.

A witness at the scene told the videographer that the car was dragged sideways by the big rig after the vehicles collided.

The Passat driver, whom the videographer said appeared to be female, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The big rig driver was not injured.

Crews cleared the scene by 7:16 a.m., a fire department spokesman said.
