The contents of one room of a Highland Park house caught fire Saturday and the flames spread to the attic before they were doused in about 20 minutes.
The fire was reported at 6:58 p.m. Saturday at 5904 E. Meridian St., west of Figueroa Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Lyndsey Lantz.
Flames were showing when firefighters arrived, Lantz said.
“Firefighters proceeded in the offensive mode, discovering a contents fire in one room that had extended into the home’s attic,” she said.
The fire was out at 7:19 p.m., Lantz said. No injuries were reported.
