A boarded-up Craftsman-style home went up in flames Friday in the Harvard Heights section of South Los Angeles.
Fire crews responded at 9:17 a.m. Friday to the vacant two-story structure to find fire coming from the second floor, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Jennifer Middleton.
The roof of the building had partially collapsed before firefighters arrived, she said, adding that the fire started on the second floor and spread into the attic of the house.
The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety was summoned to check the building’s structural integrity.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was not immediately clear, Middleton said.
