A small fire on the 15th floor of a 23-story high-rise in Westwood prompted residents to shelter in place, but no injuries were reported.
Firefighters responded at about 1:50 p.m. Monday to the building in the 10500 block of West Wilshire Boulevard after receiving reports of a fire that activated a smoke alarm, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Fire crews climbed the stairwell and found a small “contents fire” that was quickly doused.
Residents who sheltered in place were being checked, but there were no immediate reports of any injuries, LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz said.
Traffic was impacted in the area, with Wilshire Boulevard closed between Warner Avenue and Manning.
