A 40-year-old man with unknown injuries was found at the scene of a fire at a duplex that was quickly extinguished by Los Angeles Fire Department personnel Friday.
Fire crews responded at 1:02 a.m. Friday to 1140 East Vernon Ave. between South Central and Hooper avenues, where they found light smoke coming from one of the duplex’s units, said Jamie Stewart of the LAFD.
The fire was knocked down in 14 minutes, according to the LAFD.
The man found at the fire was medically evaluated by paramedics. It was not immediately known if his injures were due to the fire.
