A fire broke out Friday in a vacant one-story commercial building in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood of South Los Angeles, but no injuries were reported.

The fire was reported about 7:25 a.m. in the 7300 block of South Figueroa Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“The building was previously burned with existing holes in the roof,” said LAFD spokesman Jamie Stewart.

Around 35 firefighters responded and put the blaze out by 7:37 a.m., he said.
