A fire that could be seen through the roof of a two-story Van Nuys commercial building Saturday was out in about 30 minutes.

Firefighters saw heavy flames when they arrived at the fire, reported at 8:28 p.m. Saturday at 7354 N Valjean Ave. at Valerio Street, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Jamie Stewart.

Arching wires were reported, Stewart said.

About 70 firefighters were assigned to the fire and had it out at 8:59 p.m., he said.
