Firefighters battled a trash and debris fire Monday near the Pacific Coast Highway off-ramp to the northbound Long Beach (710) Freeway in Long Beach.
Firefighters were dispatched about 9:40 a.m. to the Long Beach Public Transfer Lot, 311 E. Ocean Blvd., according to a Long Beach Fire Department public information officer.
Debris was burning inside and adjacent to a large, 40-yard-long trash bin, he said.
Firefighters had not announced a knockdown time as of Monday afternoon.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
