A fire erupted at a one-story residence with smoke showing on one side of the home and was battled Thursday by Los Angeles Fire Department crews.

Firefighters responded at 4:04 a.m. Thursday to 3801 S Welland Ave. south of Coliseum Street, where they proceeded to fight the heavy flames, coordinating roof and interior operations, said LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.

The fire was knocked down in 25 minutes and no injuries were reported.

LAFD companies will remain on scene for overhaul duties, said Lantz.
