Dozens of patients at a nursing home who were temporarily evacuated during a fire on the building’s roof in Boyle Heights are back at home Tuesday.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters responded around 11:19 p.m. Monday to Infinity Care of East Los Angeles at 101 S. Fickett St. and First Street, where they immediately began attacking the fire.

Video from the scene showed several wheelchair-bound patients waiting while fire crews worked to knock down the flames, which they extinguished in under an hour.

None of the facility’s patients were injured and all were returned ” safe and sound to their beds,” a nursing supervisor told City News Service.

The fire was contained to the roof area of the facility.
