A two-alarm fire that erupted Friday in a large barn on a Wildomar property caused major damage but no injuries — to people or livestock — before it was contained.
The blaze was reported at 10:58 a.m. Friday at 22650 Lost Road, near Dial Road, barely a mile east of Interstate 15, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine and ladder crews were sent to the location and encountered flames raging in the structure, from which the animals apparently had been removed.
The fire was fully contained at 12:30 p.m.
No surrounding vegetation was burned.
The roadway was shut down, but only a half-dozen residential properties are established there.
Crews were expected to finish mopping up by 3 p.m. Friday.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
