A hillside home in Eagle Rock was largely destroyed by a fire Thursday that began in some brush then extended to the structure, but no injuries were reported.
The fire was reported around 2 p.m. near the northbound Glendale (2) Freeway, with flames burning about an acre of vegetation and advancing toward homes on Palmer Drive, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
One home in the 2800 block of Palmer Drive was consumed by the flames, which appeared to largely gut the multi-story structure.
Fire crews were able to douse the flames by roughly 2:45 p.m. According to the LAFD, all occupants of the burned home made it outside the structure.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
