A brush fire that started Thursday on the west end of Perris blackened about two acres and threatened a property before crews slowed its advance.
The non-injury blaze was reported at 1:45 p.m. Thursday in the area of Celebration Lane and River Road, less than a mile west of Perris Valley Airport, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames moving at a slow rate through medium brush, approaching a home at the bottom of a hill.
Firefighters established hose lays halfway around the brusher shortly after 2 p.m., protecting the residence, according to reports from the scene.
A Cal Fire water-dropping helicopter was summoned to make runs on the blaze.
No evacuations were imminent.
The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
