Firefighters battled a second-alarm blaze Thursday in a single-story commercial building at an automobile dealership in Santa Clarita.
The fire was reported at 4:20 a.m. and firefighters got to the building at 23920 W. Creekside Rd. at 4:26 and found flames had engulfed the building housing the business, AutoNation Ford Valencia, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The incident quickly went to a second alarm, according to a fire department spokeswoman.
Firefighters took up defensive positions around the building, and were pouring water on the flames from outside.
Crews managed to keep the flames from spreading to a second, adjacent auto dealership, the spokeswoman said.
Fifty-four firefighters battled the blaze and put it out by 5:06 a.m., the fire department reported.
No injuries were reported.
