Firefighters battled a vegetation fire that burned roughly two acres Saturday in the Good Hope community and prompted evacuation orders.

The fire was reported about 8:15 p.m. Saturday in the 22000 block of San Jacinto Avenue, Riverside County Fire Department Public Information Officer Jasmine Wood told City News Service.

It was burning in heavy fuels at a slow rate of spread and initially posed a threat to nearby structures, prompting authorities to close San Jacinto between Aloha Road and Lukens Lane, Wood said. It was unclear how many homes were evacuated.

No injuries were immediately reported.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
