A small fire erupted near the Santa Ana River bottom in Riverside Thursday, but fire crews quickly halted the brusher and no injuries were reported.
The 20-by-20-foot fire was reported around 10:25 a.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of Fairmount Boulevard, according to the nonprofit wildfire-information service Watch Duty.
Crews had forward progress of the fire stopped within about 10 minutes.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
