A big rig hauling vehicles was engulfed in flames that extended to a small vegetation fire Friday on southbound Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore.
The non-injury blaze was reported shortly after 7:30 a.m. Friday south of Nichols Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Crews extinguished the fire at 8:05 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol incidents log site, a Sig Alert was issued about 8 a.m., with the nos. 2 and 3 lanes blocked to haul the big-rig car carrier.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
