Authorities touted a $50,000 reward Wednesday in hopes of generating tips leading to the person who gunned down a man in the southwest Los Angeles area more than two years ago.
Tyree Rowe, 39, was fatally shot about 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25, 2012, as he sat in a parked vehicle in the 1900 block of West 77th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
“There is no apparent motive for this senseless murder,” according to police. “Detectives have exhausted all investigative leads on this case, and are hoping the reward will help bring about new information.”
Rowe, an aspiring musician, is survived by his parents and siblings.
The reward, being offered by the Los Angeles City Council, is for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects in the crime.
Anyone with more information on the case was urged to call Detective Deana Stark at (213) 485-4341.
