With 100 percent of the vote tallied, here is a summary of election results for key races in Los Angeles County:


Congress 

In the widely watched race to see who will replace longtime Congressman Henry Waxman in the 33rd District, Democrat Ted Lieu was elected with 58.37 percent of the vote to Republican Elan Carr’s 41.63 percent of the vote. Full recap here.


Sheriff

In the race for Los Angeles County’s new sheriff, Long Beach Police Chief Jim McDonnell has beat out retired Undersheriff Paul Tanaka. McDonnell commanded 74.83 percent of the vote over Paul Tanaka’s 25.17 percent of the vote.


Supervisor – 3rd District

In the race for Los Angeles County Supervisor for the Third District, Sheila Kuehl has won the race with 52.78 of the vote over Bobby Shriver’s 47.22 percentSee the full story here.


Assessor

In the race to replace embattled Los Angeles County Assessor John Noguez, Jeffrey Prang has won with 50.52 percent of the vote over John Morris’ 49.48 percent. See full recap here.


Measure P

Los Angeles County’s Measure P, also known as the park tax measure, apparently died with 62.o4 percent voting yes while  37.96 percent voted no. A two-thirds majority is required for the measure to pass. Full story here.


State Senate

In the 32nd State Senate District, Tony Mendoza narrowly beat  Mario Guerra, 52.30 percent to 47.70 percent. See full story here.


In the 26th State Senate District, Ben Allen won with 61.03 percent of the vote while Sandra Fluke received 38.97 percent.


State Assembly

In the 66th State Assembly District, Republican David Hadley was the winner with 51.43 percent of the vote while Democrat Al Muratsuchi had 48.57 percent.


In the 36th State Assembly District in northern Los Angeles County, Tom Lackey was the victor with 59.88 percent to Steve Fox’ has 40.12 percent of the vote.
