A wreath will be laid Friday at the memorial of former President Richard M. Nixon at the Nixon Presidential Library and Museum on the 102nd anniversary of his birth.
Nixon’s 84-year-old brother Edward and Rear Adm. Patrick Lorge, the commander of Navy Region Southwest, will speak at the 11 a.m. laying of a memorial wreath being sent by President Barack Obama. Ceremonial music will be performed by Navy Band Southwest.
Stephen Hess, a senior fellow emeritus in governance studies at the Brookings Institution, will deliver the Nixon Legacy Lecture at 1 p.m., discussing his new book, “The Professor and the President: Daniel Patrick Moynihan in the Nixon White House.”
Admission will be free at the library Friday. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
