Glendale fire Chief Harold Scoggins is leaving the department to become Seattle’s fire chief, it was announced Wednesday.
Scoggins, a 25-year veteran of the Glendale Fire Department, has been at its helm since 2008, and will serve through the end of March. He will assume his new duties the following month.
Glendale fire Deputy Chief Greg Fish will serve as the department’s interim chief when Scoggins leaves.
“Chief Scoggins has been a regional leader and innovator in the fire and EMS service … and we are sad to see him go,” said Glendale City Manager Scott Ochoa.
