Mayor Eric Garcetti is charging $1,400 a head for the chance to see musical artists Michelle Branch and Miguel perform at an April 30 fundraiser for his re-election campaign.
Garcetti, who filed papers this month to begin raising money for a 2017 re-election campaign, promised additional acts for the event, which is taking place at Hollywood nightclub Avalon, according to a “save the date” flier posted on the city’s Ethics Commission website.
The only other person who has filed official papers to fundraise for a mayoral run in 2017 is Y.J. Draiman, who also ran for mayor in 2013, finishing last in the field of eight candidates in the primary, receiving 1,174 votes, 0.41 percent.
