The financial assistance, provided by the Employment Development Department, will go toward services to help find new jobs for people who were let go when the hotel closed in March, including skill assessment, career counseling, job placement and on-the-job training.
“This grant will help Los Angeles-area workers who became unemployed through no fault of their own,” EDD Director Patrick W. Henning, Jr. said. “Workers who lost jobs when the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza closed will now receive targeted employment services to help get them back to work as soon as possible.”
The grant was given to the Los Angeles Workforce Development Board to administer.
