Port of Long Beach CEO Jon Slangerup is stepping down after two years to become chairman of an aviation-related tech company, port officials announced.
It was not clear which company Slangerup will be leaving for. His last day will be Oct. 31.
Port of Long Beach’s Board of Harbor Commissioners will conduct a search for his replacement.
Slangerup Thursday said he is proud of his efforts to make port operations more sustainable and will be leaving “my post content in the knowledge that the port’s greatest years lie ahead.”
