Vice President Joe Biden was scheduled to leave Los Angeles Friday after addressing a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser the day before, and police warned his departure could create a bit of a traffic jam on his route.
Southern California, a Democratic stronghold in all polls and expected to back Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in next month’s election, was a big-bucks bonanza for the party Thursday, as Biden and Hillary herself attended pricey – but separate – fundraisers.
Biden’s departure Friday morning, however, was expected to be a bit unpleasant for local drivers. The Los Angeles Police Department said some areas should be avoided until 7 a.m. to prevent travel delays for motorists. These include:
— the area around Hilgard Avenue/Lindbrook Avenue between Le Conte Avenue and Westwood Boulevard;
— the area around Wilshire Boulevard between Malcolm Avenue and South Sepulveda Boulevard;
— the area around Culver Boulevard between the 90 Freeway and Vista Del Mar;
— the area around Pershing Drive between Culver Boulevard and Imperial Highway.
