Mayor Eric Garcetti is traveling to Mexico City to take part in a summit with fellow mayors to discuss climate change.
Garcetti will attend the opening ceremonies of the C40 Mayors Summit and serve as vice chair of a steering committee meeting during that event, mayoral aides said.
Garcetti’s schedule also includes a meeting with Mexico’s secretary of foreign affairs, Claudia Ruiz Massieu, with whom he is planning to discuss immigration and climate policy.
Garcetti will return to Los Angeles on Wednesday evening.
